Sai Kumar is a well acclaimed Malayalam actor of high caliber who acted in large number of films in main roles,Supporting roles,Character roles and also earned wide appreciations for  his villainous roles.He got accolades for several villain roles in various films which he portrayed with much talent.

Sai Kumar has got his acting abilities intrinsic as he is the son of the legend actorKottarakkara Sreedharan Nair.Sai Kumar was the lead actor of a professional drama troupe at the time of joining films as the hero of the Malayalam film ‘Ramji Rao Speaking’.Before that he had acted in one or two Malayalam films as a child artist.Ramji Rao speaking was a trend setter and a big success film and that helped him to acquire more roles in Malayalam films in main roles.But because of   the tough competition in those days he could not maintain his protagonist position and had to act in supporting roles and later in villain roles.He is having excessive talent to portray villain roles and negative roles.His villain roles usually would  not be of  a Goonda type but as characters having high status in society wearing  a face mask  of clean image but involved in all types of anti social activities.

Sai Kumar was born in Kottarakara on 14th April 1963.The film Ramji Rao Speaking which was directed by Siddique and Lal was a big success.He acted as the hero of the film along with Mukesh,Innocent,Rekha,Mamukoya,Devan,Sankaradi,Sukumari  etc.
In the film ‘Thoovalsparsam’  of 1990 he acted along with Jayaram and Mukesh in equally important roles as the roommates and the entry of a small baby in to their lives and a baby sitter (Innocent) creates much comedy.

Sai Kumar got accolades for the film ‘Mannar Mathai Speaking’ in which he acted along with Mukesh,Vani Viswanath,Biju Menon etc which was also a big success.
In the super hit film ‘Hitler’ he depicted a villain role and acted  along with Mammootty,Mukesh,Jagadeesh,Shobhana etc.
In the film ‘Aaram Thampuran‘ he acted as the friend of Mohan Lal’s character jagannathan.Sai Kumar acted as a business tycoon ‘Nanda Kumar’ who sought the help of Mohan Lal when he had to face a setback in his business.
He  also acted as villain in the super hit Mohan Lal  film ‘Narasimham’.
He acted as Dy.Sp John in the film ‘The Truth‘ directed by Shaji Kailas in 1998.

He was villain the film ‘Valiettan‘ in which Mammootty was the hero and it  was directed by Shaji Kailas.Sai Kumar played the role of ‘Patteri Sivaraman Nair’ who wanted to finish off Madhavan Unni (Mammootty) because of of some old family disputes.
In the film ‘Thandavam’ a Mohan Lal lead film, Sai Kumar portrayed an evil Politician ‘Sankar Das’.
His villain role as K.C.Korah in the film ‘Chathurangam‘ directed by K.Madhu in 2002 earned him much appreciation as well as the villain of Sethurama Iyer CBI directed by K.Madhu in 2008.

In the film ‘Bharatchandran I.P.S‘ in which Suresh Gopi was the hero and which was directed by Ranji Panicker in 2005, Sai Kumar’s role as Janab Hyderali Hassan was highly appreciated.
Suresh Gopi,Lalu Alex,Shreya Reddy,Rajan P.Dev etc acted in it.
In the film ‘Anantha Bhairavi‘ directed by Jayaraj in 2007 Sai Kumar portrayed a Kathakali artist and his son Appu (Master Devan) was  a talented classical child singer in the film.The film earned critical acclaim and awards.Sai Kumar received second Best actor award from Kerala Government for this film.
In the film ‘Chakkaramuthu’ directed by Lohithadas (2006)  in which Dileep and Kavya Madhavan were the leads, Sai Kumar acted as the uncle of Kavya and received Best supporting actor award from Asianet.

In the film ‘Sound Thoma‘ in which Dileep portrayed the hero character Thomas in 2013, Sai Kumar acted as his father ‘Plaparmbil Paulo’.The character Paulo was a greedy man who became rich by  doing all kind of evil activities.Thomas was against this and he helped the villager’s using his father’s money without his knowledge.Ultimately Plaparambil 













Paulo realizes his mistakes.
In the 2015 super hit movie ‘Mili‘ Sai Kumar acted as the father of Mili(Amala Paul).
