Suhasini is a versatile actress who acts in all the south Indian languages of Tamil,Telugu,Kannada and Malayalam for more than last three decades.She possess fantabulous acting skills and was able to manifest several unforgettable roles quite naturally.
Sorrowful emotive roles,serious roles,humour roles and other type of roles which may require much acting abilities are all feasible to this actress with intrinsic talents.
She is the daughter of Charu Hassan who is the elder brother of the ‘Gem of Indian Cinema-Kamal Hassan’.Charu Hassan is National Award winner as Best Actor for a Kannada Movie,
Kamal Hassan is recipient of National Awards  as Best Actor thrice,Suhasini  also got National Award as best Actress for her film ‘Sindhu Bhairavi’.
Suhasini’s husband is Award winning Director and producer of films, Mani Ratnam.

Suhasini was born on 15 Aug 1961 and she made her debut in the Tamil film ‘Nenjathe Killathe’ for which she received Tamil Nadu Government Best Actress Award.
Suhasini entered Malayalam Cinema with the film Padmarajan’s  ‘Koodevide’ in 1983 in which Mammootty was the hero.Rahman debuted in to film field with that film and he got 
second Best Actor Award for ‘Koodevide’.
Koodevide was a grand success and the pair Mammootty-Suhasini appeared in several films

there upon  and proved as a success pair.
Mohan Lal has also acted successfully with Suhasini in many films and his film ‘Vanaprastham’ earned wide praise from critics and audience.
Ente Upasana’ was a classic film directed by Bharathan in which Mammootty was the hero.

In the year 1985, the  film ‘Sindu Bhairavi’ which was written,produced and directed by K.Balachander earned  Suhasini National Award as Best Actress.
In Telugu Suhasini paired with Chiranjeevi in many films and most of their films were success at the box Office.
In Kannada Suhasini and Vishnu Vardhan proved as a lucky pair and their films always 
collected well at the box office.

‘Manivathoorile Ayiram Sivarathrikal’ was an excellent film directed by Fazil in  87 in which Mammootty and Suhasini acted together in main roles along with M.G.Soman.
‘Rakkuyilin Ragasadassil‘ was a blockbuster film of Mammootty and Suhasini in which the
song and sequence of “Poomukha vathilkal sneham vidarthunna poonthinkalakunnu Bharya”
earned wide popularity and appreciation.That song is still very popular and an evergreen song.
Aradhana’ was a Telugu film directed by Bharathi Raja in which Chiranjeevi was the hero.
It was the  remake of   Tamil movie ‘Kadalora Kavidaigal’.Radhika and Rajasekhar were
also in that film in important roles.
In the film ‘Dharmathin Thalaivan’ directed by S.P.Muthuraman, Rajani Kanth,Prabhu Ganesan,Captain Raju,Suhasini and Khushboo were in important roles.It was the debut
film of Khushboo in Tamil.
En Bommakkutty Ammavukku’ directed by Fazil in 88 was also a super hit film which was the remake of Malayalam film ‘Ente Mamattikutty Ammakku’.Sathyaraj,Raghuvaran,Geethu MohandasmSuhasini were in lead roles.
‘Chantabbi’ was Telugu film of 86 in which Chiranjivi and Suhasini acted in lead roles which was directed by Jandhyala.It was a classic comedy which received much critical acclaim
‘Rakshasudu’ was 86 film of Chiranjivi and Suhasini in which Nagendra Babu and Radha

acted along with them.


‘Pedababu was 2004 Telugu film of Jagapathi babu and Kalyani in which Suhasini acted.
‘Eradane Madave’ is 2010 Kannada film which is a comedy film directed by Dinesh Baboo
in which Anant Nag and Suhasini appear in lead roles.
In 2011 again another super hit Kannada  comedy film of director Dinesh Baboo ‘ ‘Mathond Madhuvana’ in which Anat Nag and Suhasini appeared together as leading pair was a 
big success.
Suhasini stepped into direction in 1996  with ‘Indira‘ a film which was produced by G.V.Films and 
She wrote screenplay for it.She directed a Television show ‘Penn’ in 1991.
She is a trained  Cinematographer.She is the first girl student for that course at Madras
Film Institute.
Suhasini wrote dialogues for films ‘Thiruda Thiruda’  “Iruvar” and “Ravan’.

Suhasini is a costume designer and a hobby hair stylist.
Suhasini with her husband Mani Ratnam and with G.Sreenivasan is having a movie production  Company  in the name “Madras Talkies“.
Suhasini received National Award  as  Best Actress  for film ‘Sindu Bhairavi’ in 86
She received Filmfare Award as Best Actress  for Kannada film ‘Benkiyalli Aralida Hoovu’ in83
Received Filmfare Best Actress Award for Kannada film ‘Bandhana’ in 84
She got Filmfare award as Best Actress for Telugu film ‘Swathi’ in 84
Filmfare award as Best Acress was given to her for Kannada film ‘Muthina Haara’ in 90.
She received Best Actress Award for Kannada film ‘Amritha Varshini’ in 97 from Filmfare
Tamil Nadu State Best Actress Award in 1980  was for Suhasini’s appearance in film  ‘Nenjathe Killathe’
She received Kerala Govt.Best Actress award for film ‘Ezhuthapurangal’ in 87.
Suhasini got Best Actress Award from Kerala Govt. for film ‘Theerthadanam’ in 2001.







 She received Nandi Award  as Best Actress for Telugu film ‘Swathi’ in 84.
In 2001 she received Best Actress  Nandi Award for Telugu film ‘Nuvvu Naaku Nachav’
